About The Library
In 1995, Elias Neofytides founded the Pan-Macedonian Studies Center, Inc. along with Mr. Paul Evangelou Esq., Barbara Papigioti and Fotis Gerasopoulos. Their goal was, and continues to be, the creation of a complete educational center established to benefit the community. Many programs were started and book collections from both Greece and the United States was instrumental in the creation of the first Hellenic American library in New York.
Over 5,000 books have been collected and some have been donated to schools and public libraries throughout the United States. Volunteers from the
Pan-Macedonian Studies Center are currently creating book clubs, read-alouds, and more events as such for adults and children of all ages. The
Pan-Macedonian Studies Center continues to offer programs and fairs at no cost to the public in many categories such as tutoring. dance lessons, health fairs and computer lessons. As done in the past, the library will continue collaborating with higher educational centers in order to make available to their readers rare books from the Pan-Macedonians rich collection of literature. These wonderful collections, provided by generous donors, will continue to be obtainable to students in order to assist them with their studies and research projects.
For the past 15 years , the Pan-Macedonian Studies Center, Inc has aired a weekly television program entitled "Macedonian TV of USA" in both Queens and Nassau County.
We would like to thank all those who provided their generous support and donations.
We would also like to thank our Library Administrator Melanie Laris and all the volunteers who have worked hard to set up the library: Eftichia Adamidis, Dimitris Bozirikidis, Gregory Georges, Georgia Filiotis, Fotis Gerasopoulos, Mary Gerasopoulos, Eleni Hatzis, Eva Khatana , Elias Laris, Nikos Laris, Stavros Laris, Georgia Mavronasios, John Neofytides, Markella Neofytides, Philip Poulos, Gregory Stathopoulos, John Stathopoulos, Eleni Stathopoulou, Stefani Stathopoulou, Stavroula Vachicouras, Nicolas Vachicouras, Bobys Vasiliadis, Elina Vasiliadis, Olga Noel Zilatis and Paris Xerogiannis.
